Ampheon Employment Vacancy

2 x Senior ASP.NET Developers

Thessaloniki, GREECE

Ampheon are a long-established British web development agency. We are currently in the process of moving our outsourced development from Eastern Europe and India to a dedicated team employed directly by the company and based in Thessaloniki. The team will support all development for UK-based clients.

We are looking for 2 Senior Developers to join us. You will be part of a small team, and have the opportunity to join the company at a time of exciting development. The role will involve picking up existing development work, and also working on new and challenging projects. You will also have the opportunity to help define the new development standards to be used by the company, and to mentor more junior staff.

You will need to be ambitious and hard working, and interested in a challenge.

The Role

You will work on every aspect of technical development, from requirement analysis, design, development, and peer testing through to deployment and the management of the production environment.

You will have a strong commercial development experience of 4+ years with C# and ASP.NET development experience. You should also have strong SQL Server experience with the skills to create and maintain normalised databases, efficient stored procedures, and to manage database objects and perform data optimisation tasks as necessary.

Knowledge of latest web technologies is required, as is a genuine interest and passion for the web.

You will be maintaining different versions of code. Due to the nature of our projects, you will work in an environment requiring small and frequent functional releases.

This role is a proactive one where you will be expected to be self-motivated and proactive as a key member of a small, growing team. You will be expected to be very 'hands-on' and competent with technical work in a small business environment.

Outline of Responsibilities

  • Handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions
  • Analyse business requirements and transform them into technical design
  • Implement the design to develop and test the functional requirements
  • Source code maintenance
  • Administer development and production environments. This includes websites and databases
  • Proactively provide ideas and solutions towards the improvement of client sites as well as our business.
  • Interact with client liaison managers to understand the business requirements for a project
  • Provide effort estimates and prioritise tasks
  • Provide timely functional releases so as to meet fast changing business requirements
  • Assess risk and impact on existing systems that may arise due to any requirement or functional change

Education

  • Preferably, you are educated to degree level with a degree in Information Technology. If not, you must be able to prove substantial working experience in the field as well as some formal qualifications in Information Technology.

You must have these Skills and Competencies

  • Experience with .NET Framework
  • Strong understanding and hands on experience of C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET and VB.NET using Visual Studio.NET 2003 / 2008
  • Experience with maintaining SQL Server 2000 / 2008 objects and handling performance issues
  • A good eye for detail and ensuring a high quality of work.
  • Advanced level of English or higher

The following skills would be advantageous

  • Knowledge and experience of XML, XHTML, XMLHTTP, DHTML, SOAP, ASP, PHP, XSLT, CSS and mySQL
  • Knowledge of written and spoken Greek. Greek is not essential because of our client base, but knowledge is preferred
  • Search engine optimisation experience
  • Technical support experience with Microsoft Windows Server technology
  • Knowledge of project methodology including Waterfall and Agile.

Application Process

  • To apply, please send your C.V. and cover letter in English to jobsgr@ampheon.com. You must have fulfilled military obligations (if applicable).
